BEING PLAYER

Your Personal Goals are:

Your personal and group amusement, Collaborating with others, the Creation of a legendary fiction and the exploration of the fiction and your PC.

Your Game Goals are:

Play to build the legend of your PC, play your PC as if they were real and play to see what happens next.

Your Main Tasks are:

Make decisions as your Character, make your Intentions clear and decide how your PC’s legend ends during the Epilogue.

PLAYER

You chose to be a Player! Next you will have some cards that summarize what you have to do in every step of the game session. If you don’t understand something, mouseover (or tap if you are on a mobile device) over the icon to get more info and the pages where that is explained in the official handbook. To your right you have a tab showing what are your Objectives and main Tasks.

DOES YOUR DIRECTOR HAVE A SCENARIO?

Listen to, or read the Scenario Introduction. If you need to ask anything, do.
Listen to, or read the Community Principles. If you need to ask anything, do.
Listen to, or read the Scenario Premise. If you need to ask anything, do.

BACKGROUND

Choose one of the Backgrounds for the Scenario. It would be ideal that every Player chooses a different Background, though certain Scenarios may be fun to repeat some Backgrounds.

ORIGIN

When everyone has chosen their Background, read (out loud or for yourself) your options for Origin and choose one of them. In this case you may choose more than one option, as long as none of them contradicts each other.

LEGENDARY TRAIT

When everyone has chosen their Origin, read (out loud or for yourself) your options for Legendary Trait and choose one of them. Then you should share it with the rest of the group before moving forward.

DRIVES

When everyone has chosen their Legendary Trait, read (out loud or for yourself) your options for Drive and choose one of them. If they don’t contradict themselves you can pick more than one. Then you should share it with the rest of the group before moving forward.

BOND

When everyone has chosen their Drive, read out loud the question to the Bond related to it. Now you should decide (asking for volunteers or choosing someone who accepts) how the answer links your Drive with another PC.

SCENES

When your PC is not on a Scene, you can fulfill the role of Chorus until they are.
When your PC is on a Scene, ask questions to the Director and Chorus to explore and discover what happens in it.

INTERACTION

Explore the way to move towards your Drive, describe how your PC acts to achieve it. Try to always make your Intent clear, especially if someone asks for it.

TESTS

If at any moment the Director decides your PC faces a dramatic obstacle, let's Test them! If you don’t know how to make a Test, the Director will tell you how.

ENDING THE ACT

When the Director announces the Act has ended, it is time to start the Interlude. They will also tell you how to proceed.

ORIGIN

Consider if something about your Origin has been revealed that you want to rewrite on your PC sheet. Share it with the group so that they know of the change.

DRIVE

Consider if what happened during the Act changed your PC’s Drive. Share it with the group so that they know of the change.

LEGENDARY TRAIT

Consider if you are enthusiastic about your Legendary Trait. If not, you can bargain with your Director to rewrite it or get a new one.

EPILOGUE

If the Chorus has decided the Premise has been answered, they will announce the Epilogue. In this case, skip the next step.

GO TO EPILOGUE

WIPE THE SLATE CLEAN

If the Director decided to apply “Wipe the Slate Clean”, erase all your Insights you may have and the Strikes they tell you to.

Narrate with complete freedom how the legend of your PC ends, taking into account your Personal and Game Goals. Once you finish narrating your Scene, you can take part of the Chorus in what’s left of the Epilogue. Thanks for playing and being part of this great Leyenda!
