BEING CHORUS

Your Personal Goals are:

Your personal and group amusement, Collaborating with others, and the Creation of a legendary fiction.

Your Game Goals are:

Find out what happens to the community, find out what happens with their Principles and find out what happens to the Premise.

Your Main Tasks are:

Judge the PCs and NPCs according to the community Principles. Decide how it reacts to the PC’s Actions and experiences. Decide when the Scenario’s Premise has been answered to be able to start the Epilogue.

CHORUS

You chose to be part of the Chorus! Next you will have some cards that summarize what you have to do in every step of the game session. If you don’t understand something, mouseover (or tap if you are on a mobile device) over the icon to get more info and the pages where that is explained in the official handbook. To your right you have a tab showing what are your Objectives and main Tasks.

DOES YOUR DIRECTOR HAVE A SCENARIO?

Listen to, or read the Scenario Introduction. If you need to ask anything, do.
Listen to, or read the Community Principles. If you need to ask anything, do.
Listen to, or read the Scenario Premise. If you need to ask anything, do.

ASK

Ask the Players questions about their PCs, taking into account the decisions they made. Judge if their answers already imply respect or transgression to the Principles and if they seem to aim towards or away from some of the Legendary Archetypes.

NPCs

If any Origin, Legendary Trait or Drive suggests an NPC that calls your attention, ask the Director if they have a name already. If they don’t, consider (and comment) how they relate to the Community Principles.

PCs

Consider during the Scenes if any PC is respecting or transgressing the Principles, if they are achieving their Drive and if they are using too much (or too little) any of their Abilities or their Legendary Trait. Share it out loud when that happens.

NPCs

If you see the opportunity to embody a nameless NPC to interact directly with any PC (and thus judge better their decisions), do it. It is also the chance to put yourself in the shoes of an NPC that you are interested in playing just for fun.

COMMUNITY

Consider the effects that the PC’s Actions and Intentions will have in the community and their Principles. Suggest the Director new situations or changes to the ones they already described. Communicate what the community thinks of the PCs.

PREMISE

Never forget the Premise. If you find it necessary, remind it to the rest of the group. When the Director announces the end of an Act, it is time to start the Interlude. In it, your role will be very important.

REMIND

After everyone has taken some time off, remind them outloud the Scenario’s Premise and the Community Principles.

VALUES

Consider and comment if the Principles have changed or strengthened. If they have changed, make the appropriate modifications.

LEGENDARY ARCHETYPES

Consider and comment with the rest which Legendary Archetype the PCs are moving towards. They may even change.

COMMUNITY

Consider and comment on other changes to the community that may have risen during what happened in the previous Act.

PREMISE

If you think the Premise has been resolved, it is time to announce it to the group and move towards the Epilogue. Skip the next step.

Bargain with the other voices of the Chorus which is the answer to the Scenario’s Premise. Once you have decided it, share it with the group.

LEGEND PATTERN

Bargain with the other voices of the Chorus what will the Legend Pattern you have just forged. It can be a mix of more than one Pattern.
